About myselfI am a qualified counsellor and have a Diploma in Counselling from The Gestalt Centre, London (www.gestaltcentre.co.uk). The course is accredited by the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I am a Member of the BACP, and in accordance with their guidelines I have regular supervision. To ensure the quality of my work, I am committed to ongoing professional and personal development. Since 2005, I have undertaken work as a counsellor in a GP surgery. I have worked with a wide range of people and problems, including depression, anxiety, bereavement, low self-esteem, bullying, and issues around anger. I am particularly interested in supporting people to find self-acceptance and meaning in their lives. I have always had an interest in the many ways in which people live and make sense of the world. For example, before training as a counsellor I studied Archaeology and Anthropology (BA hons Cantab) and Archaeology and Art History (MA). I approach counselling as a journey in which I walk by your side while you find your way. I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to deepen your awareness of your thoughts, feelings, and relationships, gain more understanding of yourself and your life, and hopefully find more choices and explore new ways of being with yourself and others. |
