What is counselling?Counselling provides a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings and look at yourself, your relationships and your life with the support of a trained counsellor. Counselling may help you to develop more awareness of yourself, to shed old patterns, to discover more effective and satisfying approaches to life, and may give you more choices. People come to counselling for many reasons, including:Depression How many sessions will you need?I offer short to long term counselling. It is up to you how many sessions you want to have, and this can be discussed on an ongoing basis. Sometimes a few sessions are all that is needed, and sometimes a person can benefit from longer term counselling. I would normally suggest an initial six sessions, with a review session on the sixth session to see if you wish to continue. After that the sessions would be open-ended, although we would regularly review the work. |
